Merit Medical Journal aims: 

1. Medical Education, with a special interest in continuous medical education programs.
2. Promotion for medical staff and physicians inside and outside the University
3. Transmission of medical information of all research published in the journal into all medical personnel and physicians in upper Egypt, hence continuous medical education.
4. Transmission of medical information from medical personnel to population through simple literatures, flayers, announcements, and health programs.
5. The journal chairs with community health administration for improvement and social activities through rural area mass screening programs, and health promotion.
6. The journal chairs the responsibility of health problems and indulged in all national and international mass screening programs proposed by local health authorities by advertisement and announcement.
7. The journal will be indulged in all processes of presidential health improvement programs in all Egypt governorates, especially upper Egypt ones. 

Journal Strategic Objectives in the Next 5 Years

1- Attract submission from academic researchers from all fields of medicine, and surgery, especially the rapidly growing fields of medicine as interventional medicine, laparo-endoscopic techniques, minimal invasive techniques, robotics in medicine, robotic surgery, oncoplastic, and reconstructive surgeries.

2- Improve the quality of publication by added services as language and statistical help.

3- Increase researchers' access to our journal

4- Internationalization of the editorial board, reviewers, and journal publications.

5- Establishing national recognition through staff communications

6- Establishment of other specialty journals or supplementary issues e.g. Merit Surgery journal

7- Publishing special issue as the faculty anniversary issue, and the annual scientific conference issue.

8- The journal may chart all national presidential programs for the better health of all Egyptian people, by implementing all steps of the program, advertisements, and announcements, and publish all results step by step till the end helped by all journals within the EKB umbrella.
